Eduard Bayer borns in Barcelona in 1982. He studies Quemical Engineering in UAB and works in different areas until 2005 when he discovers the photography in a trip to Peru. When he comes back he does a master in graphic documentalism in IEFC and he takes part of several workshops in Gijón, Albarracín and Barcelona.
Is in this moment when he decides to focus on documental photography. He starts to work as a free lance photographer for independent journalstic medias making different reportages in the city and covering spot news. In 2006 he takes charge for several months of the graphical edition of Setmanari Directa and starts to make pictures about different topics as arquitecture and spectacles. At the same time starts collaborating with different newspapers in Barcelona as El País, La Vanguardia, Avui, ADN, Diari de Girona ...On june he travels to Mexico as photographer of CCIODH (Civil International Comision of Observers for Human Rights) to document the incidents happened in San Salvador Atenco on May 2006, and a book is edited. He also covers the second election of the president Hugo Chavez in Venezuela in december 2006.
From 2007 he works daily as a free lance for El Pais newspaper, covering all kind of social issues in Barcelona. He is a regular collaborator of Público newspaper, other publications and news agencies. In summer 2007 he covers as a free lance the G8 Summit in Rostock (Germany). In 2008 he travels to Kosovo coinciding with the declaration of independece of the country. A little time later he leads and develope a project in Iraqui Kurdistan on women's guerrilla of the PKK and the situation of the guerrilla warfare in the north of Irak. Currently he is preparing a project in Africa on Gambian women, to document the ritual of the ablation.
